Karmaback points for Charity

As non-profit organizations continue to look to social media as a viable means to drive charitable giving, the Bob Woodruff Foundation, the Learn To Be Foundation and the Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society have joined forces with Karmaback, Inc. to turn social network engagement into cash donations via Karmaback points, which are easily earned by interacting with partner brands on Facebook and Twitter. Through this new program, companies that use Karmaback for social network marketing, including sweepstakes, coupons, and customer engagement, get the added benefit of giving their Facebook fans and Twitter followers a way to donate their earned Karmaback points to a participating charity.

Karmaback Launches Social Coupons

http://www.austinstartup.com/2010/07/karmaback-announces-social-coupons/

Today, Karmaback, the only online engagement and sweepstakes platform that rewards the community’s engagement and evangelism, announced Social Coupons, a new feature targeted at enabling companies to grow their online community while in turn rewarding the community’s engagement and evangelism. Social Coupons are trackable and viral discounts and special offers that companies can utilize to grow Facebook fans, Twitter followers and website visitors. When used in conjunction with Karmaback’s Social Sweepstakes, Social Coupons can convert Fan and Follower attention into measurable sales revenue.
“With Social Coupons, we now have a way to ensure companies, using our Social Sweepstakes to get new fans and followers, have a way to generate new measurable sales after the sweepstakes is over,” says Harlan Titus Beverly, CEO of Karmaback, Inc for formerly the founder of Bigfoot Networks. Karmaback is a member of the Austin Technology Incubator(ATI).

Karmaback Joins the Austin Technology Incubator

Karmaback formed in September 2009 under the leadership of Harlan Titus Beverly, founder of Bigfoot Networks, Inc., an ATI member company from 2005 to 2007. After growing Bigfoot Networks from zero to 20 employees and from no product to a multinational gaming company in two years at the ATI, he said he knew where to turn with his next company.
“One of the first people I called when I was forming Karmaback in Sept. 2009 was Bart Bohn from the ATI,” Beverly said. Though the ATI was supportive of his company before admission, the Incubator formally invited Karmaback to join as a member company in Dec. 2009.

Beverly said the two-fold draw of the ATI is their package deal of logistical infrastructure and business talent. “Having access to office space, meeting rooms, and the excellent administrative help is incredibly valuable,” Beverly said. “From a business perspective, having Bart and the whole ATI staff able to help with business strategy and implementation is very valuable. ATI continues to be the go-to place for entrepreneurs who are serious about starting their company.”

On the outlook, ATI-IT and wireless director Bart Bohn sees promise for Beverly’s second tenure at the incubator. “It is becoming more common now to see serial members of the ATI,” Bohn said. “We are excited to work with Harlan Beverly again on his new venture. Karmaback provides a fun, scalable solution for retailers to engage with their potential customers and we look forward to its success.”
