Karmaback formed in September 2009 under the leadership of Harlan Titus Beverly, founder of Bigfoot Networks, Inc., an ATI member company from 2005 to 2007. After growing Bigfoot Networks from zero to 20 employees and from no product to a multinational gaming company in two years at the ATI, he said he knew where to turn with his next company.
“One of the first people I called when I was forming Karmaback in Sept. 2009 was Bart Bohn from the ATI,” Beverly said. Though the ATI was supportive of his company before admission, the Incubator formally invited Karmaback to join as a member company in Dec. 2009.
Beverly said the two-fold draw of the ATI is their package deal of logistical infrastructure and business talent. “Having access to office space, meeting rooms, and the excellent administrative help is incredibly valuable,” Beverly said. “From a business perspective, having Bart and the whole ATI staff able to help with business strategy and implementation is very valuable. ATI continues to be the go-to place for entrepreneurs who are serious about starting their company.”
On the outlook, ATI-IT and wireless director Bart Bohn sees promise for Beverly’s second tenure at the incubator. “It is becoming more common now to see serial members of the ATI,” Bohn said. “We are excited to work with Harlan Beverly again on his new venture. Karmaback provides a fun, scalable solution for retailers to engage with their potential customers and we look forward to its success.”
